Still in its early stages, the Pennfield girls' golf program is teeing off into its third year with a clear focus: growth, recruitment, and development.
“We’re a new program,” says Coach Rob Moran. “Right now, it’s all about getting the word out, bringing in new athletes, and helping them fall in love with the game.”
Offseason Goals
With no major offseason events scheduled, the primary goal has been recruiting and laying down the foundation of a long-term program. The Panthers are aiming to rebuild after graduating three key seniors, who were instrumental in launching the team’s journey.
Training with Purpose
Pennfield athletes participate in a sport-specific lifting program designed to enhance performance across all sports, including golf. While they’re not emphasizing tournaments just yet, the behind-the-scenes grind is well underway.
Coaching Philosophy
For Coach Moran, the mission is about more than just scorecards.
“I want our girls to love the game and improve daily,” he shares. “That’s the real win.”
With a youthful, developing roster, his leadership is focused on progress, fun, and passion—three ingredients that often lead to long-term success.
Challenges Ahead
The departure of three senior leaders leaves the squad young and somewhat inexperienced. But what they lack in experience, they’re making up for in potential and coach-driven enthusiasm.
