Kenmore East Volleyball Reloads with New Talent and Veteran Drive

Offseason Focus: Sharpening Skills, Strengthening Teams

For Kenmore East Girls Volleyball, the offseason is all about growth—both as athletes and teammates. With many players participating in club volleyball, the focus is on honing individual skills while learning to adapt and compete alongside different teammates. “The goal is to become stronger players and better teammates,” says Coach Julie Fischer.

Summer Plans: Open Gyms, Clinics & Team Camp

To prepare for the upcoming season, Coach Fischer runs open gym sessions to help players stay in rhythm. Many athletes also attend summer camps and clinics independently to fine-tune their game. New this summer, the program is hoping to launch its own team camp, offering a dedicated environment for skill-building and bonding.

Roster Changes: Big Shoes to Fill

Kenmore East will look quite different this season after graduating five key starters. Among them were multiple-year varsity veterans who played crucial roles on offense. Their departure opens the door for a new wave of talent from the Junior Varsity ranks. With 17 girls vying for 12–13 varsity spots, tryouts promise to be highly competitive.

Players to Watch: Veteran Core Meets Rising Talent

The team will feature a mix of five seniors and five returning juniors, alongside a strong group of juniors making the jump from JV. Coach Fischer is excited to see how this blend of experience and ambition shapes the squad. “The depth and drive of these girls will create a very competitive and high-energy environment.”

Fitness & Nutrition: Building Stronger Habits

While formal weightlifting programs weren’t detailed, the focus remains on healthy habits and proper nutrition. “As a district, we encourage athletes to fuel their bodies properly,” says Fischer. “It’s a constant effort, but one that pays off.”

Coaching Collaboration: A Unified Approach

Kenmore East’s coaching staff is committed to continuous improvement. With JV and modified coaches actively coaching club ball, the entire staff collaborates on drills, open gyms, and practice plans. “We work as a team to make our program the best it can be,” says Fischer.

Looking Ahead: A Fresh Start, A Familiar Mission

With a new roster comes new challenges. “High school teams are a revolving door,” Fischer acknowledges, “but every year, my goal is the same: build a family of players who trust and support each other.” As the Bulldogs reload for a new season, that commitment to culture and competition remains at the heart of everything they do.
