Pocono Mountain West Volleyball Reloads with Senior Leadership and High-Powered Offense

Offseason Goals: Passing Precision and Faster Tempo

As the Panthers gear up for the upcoming season, the offseason focus has been crystal clear: sharpening passing skills and building a more uptempo offense. Head Coach Jason Koelsch is steering his squad toward a more dynamic playing style, pushing for faster transitions, smarter sets, and more movement at the net.

New Faces, Key Leaders: Changes on the Court

This season brings a key addition in middle hitter Alexa Campusano, expected to add strength and versatility at the net. On the leadership front, the Panthers will lean heavily on a senior-led core:

Madison Clark (Outside Hitter)

Hannah Bossuyt (Outside Hitter)

Mya Olizarowitz (Setter)

These experienced veterans will guide the team through what promises to be a competitive and transitional season.

Players to Watch: Breakout Talent Across the Board

Alongside the senior trio, several athletes are poised for standout seasons:

Jaylyn Rowe (Libero) – Anchoring the defense with sharp reads and court awareness.

Mya Olizarowitz – Orchestrating the offense as the team’s setter and on-court leader.

Madison Clark & Hannah Bossuyt – Powerhouse outside hitters expected to drive the offense with explosive attacks and consistency in high-pressure moments.

Coaching Strategy: Focus on Fitness and Flexibility

Coach Koelsch and his staff are placing heavy emphasis on stamina and explosiveness, with training geared toward helping the team play high-intensity volleyball from start to finish. “We’re looking to utilize more attackers across the court,” says Koelsch. “Movement and versatility at the net will be key.”

Biggest Challenge: Rebuilding for Consistency

After graduating key contributors, the Panthers’ main challenge lies in replacing talent while maintaining performance. “We need to adjust to the losses from last season and find a way to play high-caliber volleyball throughout the entire match,” Koelsch notes.
