Owen-Withee Football: Strength, Speed, and a Hunger for More
Offseason Focus
This offseason, our focus has been centered on improving strength, agility, and footwork. Developing quickness and explosiveness is a top priority for our athletes, and we've been emphasizing the fundamentals that will elevate our overall performance on the field.
Special Offseason Events
Many of our players are multi-sport athletes, and we make it a point to support their participation in other programs throughout the year. That said, we’ll bring the full team together for our annual summer camp, scheduled for June 23–26, where we’ll build team chemistry and continue our development as a unit.
Notable Additions & Departures
We’re fortunate to return our entire coaching staff for the 2025 season. The blend of experienced and younger coaches creates a well-rounded approach that resonates with our student-athletes. Stability on the staff has been a big factor in our continued success.
Players to Watch
We’ll feature an explosive backfield led by Talon Mueller and Brandon Geldernick, both of whom have excelled in track this spring and are poised to carry that speed and momentum into the fall.
Under center, Preston Fritz will step in at quarterback and provide the leadership and poise we need at that position.
We’re returning a strong group of offensive linemen, though we’ll be looking to fill both guard spots. On defense, we bring back a solid core, with key competition brewing at the nose tackle and linebacker positions.
Weight Lifting and Fitness
Our weight room is more than just a place to train—it's where our identity is built. The camaraderie formed while pushing each other to get better creates the trust and accountability that defines our team culture.
Nutrition
We continue to emphasize the importance of recovery and making smart nutritional choices. We constantly remind our athletes that fueling the body properly is just as important as physical training.
Coaching Perspective
Coaching is a year-round commitment. We’re constantly evaluating film, developing underclassmen, and looking for ways to put our athletes in positions to succeed. The game is always evolving, and so are we.
Fan Engagement & Community Impact
Following last season’s State Championship, we’ve made it a priority to stay involved in our community. Our program values giving back and maintaining a strong connection with the fans who support us so passionately.
Biggest Challenges Ahead
We’ll need to continue growing, both individually and as a team, to meet the demands of our highly competitive conference. Building team chemistry with new starters and leadership roles will be a key factor in our success this year. We aim to become more than just a team—we want to be a Football Family.
Final Thought
With a strong foundation, championship pedigree, and a hungry group of returners, Owen-Withee football is focused and ready to embrace the challenges ahead. Expect another hard-nosed, disciplined, and united group this fall.
