Offseason Focus

This offseason, the Fort Recovery cheer team has been focused on enhancing core skills like tumbling and strength conditioning. The athletes are also diving into stunting techniques and fine-tuning their competition routines to stay sharp and performance-ready.

Special Offseason Events

The team is gearing up for a UCA camp this summer—an exciting opportunity to sharpen skills and build camaraderie. In addition to the camp, they’re planning fun bonding experiences like swimming outings and creating themed t-shirts for upcoming games.

Notable Additions & Departures

Fort Recovery will miss a key senior graduate and a standout foreign exchange student who brought energy and talent to the squad. However, the program is growing steadily, and several new faces are joining the team, bringing fresh talent and enthusiasm.

Players to Watch

In cheerleading, every athlete plays a vital role. Coach Steinke emphasizes that it's not about individual standouts—every team member contributes significantly, with no one riding the bench. Each athlete is constantly utilized for their unique strengths, making the entire team one to watch.

Weight Lifting & Fitness

Athletes are encouraged to take part in summer weightlifting programs specifically designed for female athletes. With a sport that demands strength and precision, these sessions help build the physical foundation necessary for stunting and high-energy routines.

Coaching Perspective

The coaching staff is committed to enhancing both individual growth and overall team dynamics. Coach Steinke is continually exploring new strategies to elevate each athlete’s abilities while fostering a more cohesive team unit.

Fan Engagement & Community Impact

Community connection is a core value for the Fort Recovery squad. This offseason, the team will once again host the kiddie tent at the village’s Jubilee Festival—an event that helps build bonds between the athletes and the youngest fans, affectionately known as the “young Indians.”

Biggest Challenges Ahead

The challenge this year? Defending the state championship title for the third consecutive time. With determination and hard work, the team is all-in for another run at glory, proud to represent both their school and their supportive community on the competitive cheerleading stage.
