Fairfax Football: Reloading for Another Championship Run

Offseason Focus

This offseason, the primary goal has been continuing to get bigger, stronger, and more athletic. The team remains committed to physical development as the foundation for success on the field.

Special Offseason Events

Fairfax is participating in several 7-on-7 tournaments throughout the offseason, focusing on competition and fun. While these events help sharpen skills, most of the team bonding is reserved for the in-season period.

Notable Additions & Departures

There have been notable coaching additions to the program, including Gerry Pannoni, Mike Donaldson, Steven Sheaffer, and Andrew Keeney. On the player side, Aaron Brown, a move-in from Georgia, is expected to make an immediate impact this season.

Players to Watch

Several standout players are set for major contributions:

Harry Maltese will continue to lead the rushing attack.

Ayden Oh is coming off a strong sophomore season at WR and will contribute on both sides of the ball.

The offensive and defensive lines are expected to be a strength, led by returning three-year starters Davon Tolson and Nathan Hurley.

Ousman Koffi and Ryan Hall are also key returning contributors expected to play pivotal roles.

Weight Lifting and Fitness

No gimmicks—just consistency. The team is living in the weight room and utilizing green days to stay active and improve overall fitness.

Nutrition

While there is no formal program, players are encouraged to increase calorie intake and focus on muscle gain. The coaching staff emphasizes the importance of learning about macronutrients (macros) to support physical development.

Coaching Perspective

The strategy remains consistent—relying on what has led the team to three straight Region Championship appearances. The new coaching staff, particularly Coach Pannoni (Offense) and Coach Donaldson (Special Teams), is expected to bring immediate value and new energy.

Biggest Challenges Ahead

The Patriot District remains the biggest hurdle. It’s considered the toughest district in Virginia, and every game will be a challenge. The team knows it can’t afford to take any game lightly.
