Play1 Team Offseason Spotlight: Boulder Creek Jaguars Football

Offseason Focus

As the Boulder Creek Jaguars enter year two under the current coaching staff, the focus has been on laying a solid foundation and building a competitive edge. The program is deep into developing a consistent system that fosters discipline, toughness, and a winning culture. Coach Josh Bahr and his staff are committed to establishing an identity that defines BC football.

Special Offseason Events

To foster growth and chemistry, the Jaguars will be attending Team Camp at Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks. These experiences are designed to challenge the team both mentally and physically while strengthening player bonds.

Notable Additions & Departures

This offseason has seen a significant infusion of talent and leadership:

Key transfers have joined the program, adding depth and experience.

The team has taken an innovative approach by recruiting from within, including student-athletes from the lunchroom.

A dominant and large freshman class promises to bolster the program's future.

The staff also welcomes a new Defensive Coordinator, bringing fresh energy and strategies on that side of the ball.

Players to Watch

Several players are poised for breakout seasons, thanks to strong offseason performances. While names weren't specified, Coach Bahr emphasizes recognizing athletes who have shown commitment in the weight room, on the field, and in the classroom. These players have embraced the program's values and are setting the tone for the season ahead.

Weight Lifting and Fitness

A standout element of Boulder Creek’s offseason is the high level of participation by multi-sport athletes, which enhances athleticism and versatility. The team also engages in a winter 7’s season to stay sharp during the off months, while integrating daily in-school training as part of their regular routine.

Nutrition Program

Nutrition is a priority at BC. The program is supported by a dedicated team room, located conveniently near the weight room and practice field. Multiple refrigerators are stocked with a variety of food and drink options, ensuring players have access to proper fuel every day.

Coaching Perspective

The coaching staff remains focused on strengthening their core identity: smart, tough, and together. They are refining their schemes and implementing the “BC Plan to Win,” a strategic blueprint designed to maximize performance and cohesion across all phases of the game.

Fan Engagement & Community Impact

Boulder Creek isn’t just a football team – it’s a community hub. The Jaguars thrive on the support from their tight-knit town just outside of Phoenix, building strong ties with youth leagues, families, and fans. The offseason includes various touchpoints to keep those bonds strong and energized.

Biggest Challenges Ahead

As the Jaguars gear up for the season, the main hurdles will be staying healthy, maintaining belief in their system, and learning to close out tight games. With the foundation being set and culture taking hold, Boulder Creek is poised to meet these challenges head-on.
