SCH Field Hockey Dreams Big with New Faces, Deep Purpose, and “Dream Crazy” Culture

Offseason Focus: New Faces, New Chemistry

With several key contributors graduating, the SCH Field Hockey program is embracing transition with excitement and purpose. “Our main offseason focus has been to fill the gaps left behind and start building chemistry with our new players,” said Coach Emilee Mahon.

With four standout newcomers joining the roster, the team is using drop-in sessions and team bonding to gel as a unit and strengthen on-field connections before preseason begins.

Special Offseason Event: The Dream Crazy Clinic

This offseason, SCH is bonding in a way that goes far beyond the field. In honor of Coach Mahon’s sister’s ongoing battle with metastatic breast cancer, and led by current player Molly McGinn, the team launched the Dream Crazy Field Hockey Clinic. Open to K–4th grade athletes, the clinic raises funds for METAvivor, an organization funding research for stage 4 breast cancer.

“This event reflects everything we’re about—teamwork, leadership, community, and heart,” said Coach Mahon.

“These seniors left a lasting legacy,” Mahon noted. “We’ll miss them deeply.”

On the coaching side, SCH welcomes back alum Shannon McNally, a former standout goalkeeper who recently competed in the NCAA National Championship with Saint Joseph’s University. “We’re thrilled to have her back on campus—she brings elite-level insight and SCH pride.”

SCH players have been taking full advantage of the brand-new strength and conditioning center, working with Coach Aaron to develop strength, speed, and technique. His guidance ensures the girls are not only stronger but also safer and smarter in their movements.

SCH’s foundation is built on high-level competition and joy. “We cultivate a competitive atmosphere that always remembers the importance of fun,” Mahon said. At the core of the team’s identity is the ‘Dream Crazy’ mantra—an empowering mindset inspired by Coach Mahon’s sister and adopted by the team over the past seven years.

“We dream big, defy the odds, and support each other through every challenge. That belief fuels our success.”

Biggest Challenge: Facing the Best to Become the Best

SCH plays in one of the toughest leagues in Pennsylvania, with every game a battle. “The competition is intense, but it’s also what makes every matchup fun and fulfilling,” Mahon shared. “We’re ready to Dream Crazy in 2025!”
