Offseason Focus

This offseason, the Pewitt High School volleyball program has prioritized strengthening the mental side of the game alongside physical conditioning. “We’re working hard on improving our strength and agility,” said Head Coach Laura Fortner. “Last year, we laid the foundation for the culture and standards we want. This year, it’s all about building on that momentum and seeing it through.”

Notable Additions & Departures

Fans can look forward to a promising influx of talent, as a standout freshman class joins the team. “They’re coming off an undefeated season,” Coach Fortner shared. “What sets them apart is their grit, determination, and strong work ethic—they’re going to bring a fresh spark to our program.”

Players to Watch

Pewitt is returning a solid core of experienced players expected to lead the charge this season. Key returners include:

Darriyah Thomas (Senior)

McKensi Jackson (Senior)

Gloria Pureco (Senior)

Mylee Morris (Senior)

Ryleigh Denmon (Sophomore)

Peyton Hill (Sophomore)

These athletes are expected to be difference-makers both on and off the court.

Fan Engagement & Community Impact

The Brahma volleyball team continues to deepen its community roots by hosting its second annual youth camp this summer. “It’s a great opportunity for our girls to give back and inspire the next generation,” said Fortner. “They’re not just athletes—they’re leaders in our community.”
