New Milford, CT — The New Milford High School gymnastics team delivered an extraordinary season in 2024–25, going undefeated in regular season competition, claiming the league championship, and finishing fourth at the State Championship. The program also qualified two athletes for the State Open and two more for New Englands, capping off a year full of heart, growth, and grit.
Team Leaders Set the Tone
Seniors Regan Williams and Haviland Brown led the way, not only with their performances but through consistent leadership and positivity. “They both led by example and were a very positive force in the gym,” said Head Coach Bethany Mihaly.
In a show of incredible determination, Williams competed the entire season with a shredded labrum in her shoulder, inspiring teammates with her toughness and commitment to finishing her senior campaign on her own terms.
Growth Across the Board
As the season progressed, several gymnasts rose to new levels:
Kyleigh O’Brien
Jamie Hendrix
Alyssa Campbell
Xenia Rivera
Maddye Rivera
Kylie Morales
These athletes improved their skill sets dramatically, embracing every challenge and playing selfless roles in the team’s overall success. “Most of them became better than they thought they could,” Mihaly noted.
A Legacy of Leadership
The senior class helped define this year’s team culture—sharing their knowledge and setting the tone for the underclassmen. Their leadership was instrumental in keeping the team focused and unified through the season’s highs and lows.
Future Looks Bright
Although the team will graduate three standout seniors, Mihaly is confident in the future: “Our younger athletes are showing such great promise and ability that I know they will make me proud next year.”
The offseason will focus on strengthening and flexibility, two key components that will help elevate the next generation of New Milford gymnasts.
