Lucy Beckham Boys Volleyball: Reigning Champions Focused on the Next Title Run
Offseason Focus
Our main focus this offseason has been preparing to return to the state championship. We're committed to raising the standard of boys volleyball in the Lowcountry. From refining fundamentals to implementing advanced offensive systems, we’re building a program that’s fast-paced, competitive, and championship-ready.
Special Offseason Events
This offseason, we’re taking a unique approach by scheduling several competitive practices against local programs, following high school league guidelines for July. These scrimmages give us an early evaluation of our team’s performance and chemistry while helping us prepare for the season ahead.
Notable Additions & Departures
We’re graduating five seniors but remain strong and optimistic. This year marks the launch of our first-ever Junior Varsity team, building a pipeline of talent and depth. I return as Head Coach for my second season alongside Assistant Coach Adi Moon. We’re also excited to welcome new staff: Dalya Amer and Elani White will coach our hitters and lead JV, while Flavio Lici joins to work with our middles.
Players to Watch
Baylor Zepp and Jacob Elliott are two returning athletes expected to have breakout seasons. Their offseason commitment to improvement—even without club volleyball—is impressive. Nearly all our returners participated in the club this year, and their growth in skill and confidence is already evident in preseason workouts. Fans can expect a disciplined, well-rounded team this fall.
Coaching Perspective
With five dedicated coaches on staff this season, practices are more dynamic, efficient, and focused. Our experience coaching club volleyball in the offseason has brought fresh strategies, systems, and drills. We’re implementing a high-tempo, aggressive offense and are confident in our ability to execute at a high level.
Fan Engagement & Community Impact
This summer, we’re launching our first youth volleyball camp—a meaningful way to engage the community and inspire the next generation. Our players are encouraged to lead by example, serving not only as athletes but as role models in and out of school.
Biggest Challenges Ahead
As reigning state champions, we know every team will bring their best against us. With club volleyball growing across the region, the level of competition is rising. Our challenge is to stay focused, keep improving, and embrace the pressure as motivation to defend our title.
