The 2024–25 season will go down as one of the most memorable in Lancaster Mennonite basketball history, with the Blazers not only claiming their section title but also advancing deep into the PA State Semifinals, finishing with an impressive 23-5 record.
Key Contributors Fuel Deep Playoff Push
A core group of standout players led the charge:
#21 Chase Hurst anchored both ends of the court, serving as the team’s emotional leader and defensive stopper while contributing consistently in scoring and rebounding.
#22 Cody Fisher was a dynamic scorer and finisher, known for his three-point shooting, athleticism, and fierce competitiveness.
#33 Bill Rothwein brought toughness, energy, and smart play, rounding out a trio that defined the team’s grit and consistency.
These leaders were instrumental in the team’s playoff success and regular-season dominance.
Season Highlights: A Championship-Level Campaign
Coach Jeff Hartenstine summarized the season simply: “Good.” And that might be an understatement. The Blazers:
Won their section
Reached the quarterfinals of the league playoffs
Finished as district finalists
Advanced to the PA State Semifinals
A defining moment came in the District Finals against Trinity High School—a hard-fought battle that steeled the team for the challenges of the state bracket.
Emerging Talent and Player Development
Two underclassmen made major strides during the season:
#23 Daulton Nolt (Sophomore) grew into a key contributor down the stretch.
#32 Jackson Bare (Freshman) impressed with his maturity and impact in big moments.
With many underclassmen gaining valuable experience, the future looks exceptionally bright.
Resilience and Team Chemistry
The Blazers enjoyed a relatively healthy season and used each challenge, including tough losses, as opportunities to grow. Their closeness as a unit helped them navigate pressure situations with maturity well beyond their years.
Senior Impact: High-Energy Leadership
Lancaster Mennonite graduates just one senior this year—Jordan Lilly, whose defensive intensity and high energy provided a crucial spark throughout the season. Coach Hartenstine credited Lilly with “changing some games with his competitiveness.”
Looking Ahead: Reloading for Another Run
With nearly the entire roster returning, excitement is high for 2025–26. The program is building on a strong foundation of experience, and Coach Hartenstine is focused on:
“Improving offensive chemistry and playing faster.”
