2025 Fall Cheer Season Preview: Heath High School

Offseason Focus

With only about 45 days of true offseason, the Heath Cheer team prioritizes rest and recovery before diving into summer training. Once the new team is formed, summer becomes a working offseason, where the focus shifts to strength and conditioning, tumbling classes, and preparing for the year ahead.

Special Offseason Events

Heath Cheer has a packed summer filled with exciting events:

UCA Cheer Camp at Ohio Northern University in July

Team bonding activities like:

A Meet 'n' Greet Picnic with high school and middle school families

A Drive-in Movie Night

A Pre-Camp Cookout and Campout

Creative Sign-Making Day in August

Plus, fun fundraisers to support their upcoming season

Notable Additions & Departures

The team bids farewell to their “Fab 5” seniors, a standout group of passionate leaders. While their presence will be missed, there's excitement for incoming freshmen, some already showing advanced skills. Heath Cheer is also actively seeking assistant coaches for both middle and high school squads.

Weight Lifting and Fitness

Heath athletes benefit from access to a dedicated strength and conditioning coach who works with the team both in-season and during the summer. Team-building activities are designed to keep athletes moving and training in fun, interactive ways. With the momentum from last year, the team has its sights set on being back-to-back state champions!

Nutrition

The team encourages nutritional awareness and healthy habits through educational sessions and fun challenges. These focus on better food choices and consistent hydration, building a foundation for high energy and strong performances.

Coaching Perspective

Coach McCoy and staff are staying busy with big plans for the year ahead. The team is prepping for its 20th annual county event this fall, managing fundraising efforts, and staying plugged into statewide updates through coaching meetings. The grind never stops for this motivated squad!
