Title: Middle Township High School Cross Country Team: Year of Preparation and Progress

Introduction:
Among the halls of Middle Township High School, there is excitement mixed with dedication. It's the hustle and determination that runs through the veins of every cross country team member. Coach Kelsey Greene offered us an exclusive insight into their preparation during the offseason and expectations for the coming year.

Offseason Focus and Training:

Middle Township's cross country team is using the offseason both productively and ingenuously. Coach Greene, who doubles as the Girls' Track and Field coach, encourages her cross country team to engage in diverse training programs like running track, pursuing low-impact exercise with the swim team, and weightlifting. The main aim is to instill a self-manageable, comprehensive exercise program that can be efficiently carried out independently during extended off periods.

Players to Watch:

The team is set to peak this season with athletes like Olivia Orton who demonstrated significant progress last season. Added to the mix are rising juniors like Eden Geisel and Ciara Jonassaint, both promising potential breakout seasons. Forging their paths through rigorous training regimes such as beach running, these athletes look forward to shaking up the field and breaking records.

Community Building and Nutrition:

Community building is integral for the Middle Township Cross Country team. One unique tradition includes a summer practice that concludes with a team breakfast to strengthen bonds. On the nutritional aspect, the team is guided by Coach Greene to maintain balanced diets to sustain their caloric needs. Her role as a guidance counselor also allows her a guiding role in the students’ wellbeing.

Coaching Strategies:

Coach Greene's coaching methodology embodies perpetual growth and flexibility. This offseason, she has planned to increase scheduled team meetings and has an outlined calendar for individual training in July. Improved platforms such as the Strava app will be used for tracking runs and maintaining accountability.

Engagement with the Community:

In an effort to stay connected with fans and the community throughout the year, the Cross Country team maintains an active Instagram page encompassing both cross country and track events.

Challenges Ahead:

Despite displaying immeasurable enthusiasm, the team anticipates hurdles. A significant concern is the location of their home course, which was shifted to the challenging beach of Avalon last season. This move resulted in better athlete growth and a home course advantage; however, it might face changes in the future due to school board decisions.

Conclusion:

The coming year holds expectations and challenges for the Middle Township Cross Country team. However, under the guidance of Coach Greene, the team is equipped to face any obstacles head-on. Their rigorous training, cohesion, and perseverance make them a team to watch. Look out, sporting world – the Middle Township High School Cross Country team is running your way!
