The team was ranked number 2 throughout the season, a fact that supplemented their morale, especially when they emerged as State Champions. In the postseason, they displayed their dominance by outscoring opponents 49-5 in six playoff games. Showing their mettle against top competition, they maintained a 9-2 record against State Tournament teams across five classes.

When asked who played key roles in this successful season, Blackburn highlighted the contributions of the pitchers - Jake Beutler, Clay Randall, and Teague Farris. These three, who combined to throw in the biggest games, were praised for their intelligence, fielding abilities, and pitching skills. Additionally, he couldn't ignore the growth of Dillon Lucas, who’s filled in flawlessly in the outfield after two players suffered injuries.
